A season four contestant of the show, Nashville Star, Jared Ashley has claimed that on March 13, 2009, upon entering The Spot, a private Nashville club, John Rich of the country music duo Big & Rich, and also a guest judge in season four of Nashville Star, hit Ashley in the face.

John Rich turned himself in to authorities on May 28, 2009 and was released after posting a $3,000 bond, charged with two counts of assault and one count of harassment.

Rich denies the allegations and says the “truth will come out through the process of our American justice system”.

Perhaps Ashley and Rich could save the courts from the burden of their squabble and settle this in Reality TV style, with a Steel Cage Celebrity Death Match on Pay Per View.
