Memorial Day

Memorial Day
A time to collectively honor our brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and safety. A “3 day weekend” for much of the labor force, the “kickoff” of summer picnics and travel–and for some odd reason cause to hold carpeting and furniture sales at stores around the country.
While all of the above statements may be true, the only one that really matters is the first. As news anchors and television commercials degrade Memorial Day into shallow sound bites about rising gas prices, weak airline ticket sales or “deep discounts” on remnants and patio furniture, we urge you to remember what the holiday is really about; those brave men and women deserve our thoughts, prayers, reflections and admirations for their service and sacrifices.
