Grammy-Nominated Gospel Singer, Rev. Timothy Wright Dies
The beloved pastor of Brooklyn‘s Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of God in Christ, and Grammy-nominated gospel singer, often called the “Godfather of Gospel”, Rev. Timothy Wright died yesterday at the Bronx Veterans Hospital. He was 61.
Wright had been hospitalized since a tragic car accident last July in which his wife and grandson were killed, and the reverend suffered critical injuries after a drunk driver hit their car head-on. Wright’s injuries left him paralyzed from the chest down and using a respirator.
Wright has received multiple Grammy nods through his singing career; the reverend will be greatly missed by fans and followers alike.
