Apple Shows No Love For Google Voice But AT&T Takes The Hit

Google Voice - Everywhere but on your iPhone?
Earlier this week AT&T upset thousands of customers by blocking Internet access to the popular 4chan site for its DSL users, without giving any sort of notice nor clear explanation as to why. A later “nothing personal” statement that mentioned some denial-of-service attack from an IP address associated with img.4chan.org seems to have done little to lessen the anger. Having read many blog postings and social network discussions on this debacle, the general sentiment from customers seems to be “we pay for access to all ur Internets–so don’t block or censor us without our permission”.
AT&T did restore access to 4chan for its users and the issue seemed to be winding down, but now that Apple has decided to remove the much anticipated Google Voice Apps from its store, leaving many AT&T bound iPhone users disappointed, much of the rage is being directed straight upon AT&T rather than Apple itself.
One thing is for sure in all of this, now is probably not a good time to work the customer service desks at AT&T.
